GENMA will supply the world's largest automated RTGs to MARDAS Terminal, one of Turkey's leading por
GENMA has once again joined forces with Turkey’s Mardaş Marmara Deniz İşletmeciliği A.Ş., signing a contract for the delivery of 10 AutoRTG cranes. This order from a long-standing customer further reinforces MARDAS Terminal’s confidence in the reliability of GENMA’s equipment and the quality of its service.

Strategically positioned at the crossroads of the Mediterranean, Aegean, Marmara and Black Seas, MARDAS Terminal is a vital link in Turkey’s container trade, handling an annual capacity of two million TEUs. The newly ordered cranes will support both fleet renewal at the existing terminal and operations at a new terminal development.
All 10 RTGs will be fitted with the GENSMART automation system and are divided into two configurations: six units in a 9+1 wide, 1-over-7 high, and four units in a 10+1 wide, 1-over-7 high. The four 10+1, 1-over-7 cranes are currently the largest RTGs in the world, and they come with GENSMART Level 3 automation. Apart from the truck lane, where container pick-up and placement are handled by remote operators, all gantry travel, trolley travel, hoisting movements, and container pick-up and placement within the yard are performed automatically by the RTGs.
The entire fleet of 10 cranes is powered by conductor rail, ensuring high efficiency and safety while significantly cutting overall energy consumption and noise — fully aligned with the MARDAS Terminal’ s green and sustainable development objectives, which is the only Green Port in Ambarlı region.
According to the project manager, the solution is closely tailored to the MARDAS Terminal has been long years of yard experience, goals for operational productivity, and a priority on automation. It represents a large-scale, green automated yard solution purpose-built by GENMA for MARDAS, and reflects the enduring trust the customer places in GENMA’s quality and service, built through years of cooperation. The project marks a new level of application for GENMA RTGs in the European market and further consolidates the company’s competitive position in the global port machinery industry.
